I started coming to Christie while waiting for physiotherapy for joint pain related to an autoimmune disease that had started to impact my mobility. Prior to starting with her I hadn’t been to a gym for years, had no consistent exercise, and struggled to enjoy most forms of physical activity. I had planned to only work with her for a few months, but 2.5 years later I still look forward to it every week, I leave the gym feeling more energised than when I went in and feel excited about my body growing stronger. By the time I was offered physiotherapy, I didn’t need it anymore, my joint pain was under control and my health has never been more stable. While these significant physical benefits have been amazing, the thing that matters most to me about working with Christie is her approach to supporting individual needs. She is adaptable, careful, passionate, and caring, and has helped me to promote my health before everything - even if that means resting. It’s a great comfort to know I would trust her completely should my health deteriorate in future, and I could not recommend her more for people who feel their Disability is a barrier to enjoying exercise.

“I started training with Christie at the Fitt Principle as her client last year. I can sometimes be really nervous starting at a new gym so I was slightly apprehensive, but I felt completely at ease the second I started training with her. She is incredible and makes sure her sessions are fun and exciting, packed full of energy and encouragement so that my sessions are something to look forward to and absolutely love. She sends me tips and advice if and whenever I need them, at no extra cost. She also tailors my sessions to ME as an individual, working WITH me and knowing what works for me and what doesn’t without judgment. Christie is so patient and nurturing and wants what’s best for you and your health, whatever that might be. She is just an absolute star, and I’m so lucky to have her as a PT, as well as a friend. “Before going to Christie, I always had it in my head that getting a PT was just not for me. However after following christie on instagram for a while and seeing what shes like as a person (hilarious, personable, doesn't take herself too seriously) Not only did I see her as someone I could go to for PT but also a friend. Christie takes all of your wants and needs into consideration and continues to work with you till you reach goals you didn't think you could. “Investing in coaching has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Each workout has a video accompanying it to show me exactly how it should be performed, and if I’m still not sure, Christie will offer modified versions or I can send her a video so she can check my form. I’ve learned so much and gained so much confidence lifting weights, which I was a bit afraid of before I started. Christie is also on hand to support with nutrition and making sure I’m getting enough protein and resting when I need to. All this support has helped me achieve my health and strength goals and I’m excited to build on that progress even further.”

I met Christie at a time in my life where I had a lack of confidence in how I looked, how I felt and how I moved. I've always felt nervous in the gym, unaware of how to use the machines, feeling intimidated and a bit silly. Meeting Christie through zoom to discuss my aims made it really clear to me how much I would learn and grow from her support and knowledge.

Although I have been with Christie for less than a year, the amount of confidence I have gained is immeasurable. Christie takes time to listen why I want to train, adapts each week depending on where I am when I come into the session, and has made me re-evaluate what it is to train. She has encouraged me to understand how to build up strength and how to see training as a way to understand my power. I can now go into a gym setting with full knowledge of how to use the machines, I have a deeper understanding of how to train in the way I want to train, and have been given the confidence to be proud of how I look and who I am as a person.

I couldn't be more grateful for Christie and the work we do together, not only have I gained an amazing support for my health and wellbeing but I am lucky enough to call Christie my friend.

Christie's practice has been inclusive from the day we started together, which is really important to me as someone who doesn't identify with the majority of people who train in gyms. The fact that I can now lift weights has shocked me and my family! Christie always makes me feel supported and encouraged, and for that I feel that Christie has changed the way I see myself for the foreseeable future.

I can speak honestly and openly about what is happening in my life that affects my health and my training, which is something I have been unable to do with previous trainers. The focus on food supporting training rather than 'dieting' has allowed me to understand how protein supports muscle repair, enabling me to have full control over what I eat, with no restrictions put in place. As a person with a history of disordered eating, this has been revolutionary in my thinking about my body and my health.
